Stop motion is a cinematographic technique where the camera is repeatedly stopped and started. For example, it can give animated figures the impression of movement. Many pictures can be taken in this process because the objects are slightly moved then a picture is taken. When all these images are combined, it gives the effect that they are moving but in fact, they are all still images. The TV show "Wallace and Gromit" uses the stop motion technique.
